I'm late updating about your first birthday. Aunt Lacey, Uncle TJ, Pa, Daddy, and Mommy helped celebrate your first birthday. I was more excited about your first birthday than my birthday. It was a very special day for me!!!! You had a carrot cake for your birthday but only ate the icing. On Saturday the 21st we had your Tigger party. Great-Grandma Morris, Grandma Suthoff, Grandma Even, Randy, Grandpa Riegel, Grandpa Suthoff, Uncle Travis, Aunt Tammy, Paige, Taylor, Aunt Jamie, Uncle TJ, Aunt Lacey, Ma, Pa, and Frank were all ate your party. I made you a Tigger cake that you just tore into. You had a great party!!!

It's Been A Long Time

You have 5 teeth now and one is a molar. It's amazing how they're just started to pop in.
We have been so busy outside this summer. You have a little kiddy pool that you love to play in. You do such a great job of writing with your side walk chalk. Your favorite thing to do when outside is to through the ball back and forth. You were still doing your one legged crawl, even when we were outside so needless to say your left knew has gotten kind skinned up. You also had your first bow fishing trip. You would get very antsy until we pulled in a fish and then you were at awe. We also went to the St. Louis Zoo. You had such a great time. You would point to the animals and just babble away. It was adorable.
You are just none stop talking. Most of it's babbling but more and more of it's beginning to become understandable. You say words or parts of words such as: bye, daddy, cup, juice, ball, puppy, the sound a cow makes, and mommy (but that's not near as often as daddy). If we keep a saying a word over and over to you in one setting you will generally repeat it or parts of it. Your so smart. You can also recognize the letter s with your magnetic letters on the fridge.
The biggest thing is this week you finally started to take steps by yourself. You take about 2-3 steps at a time. I think you'll be walking good by the end of the week.
You eat like a champ. You eat nearly anything we eat. Even the other night when I made some taco stuff a little too spicy you ate it all gone. You have been using utensils for a while now. You're getting a little bit better about getting the food onto the utensil but that's still a work in progress. I think spaghetti and pizza are your favorite foods.
Ever day you amaze more and more. Your daddy and me are so proud of you!!
Your first owie. You were stepping up the outside step
at the sitters and missed the step with
your feet but caught it with your face.

Learning so much about you!

When you were sick we learned how much you love stuffed animals. Tigger is your favorite stuffed animal. If we sit him in front of you, you just snatch him up and give him a big ole hug. Now love your baby dolls and any stuffed animal just as well. You sleep with your Tigger every night at bed. Along with sleeping we have broke you into using your paci just at nap time and bed time. Of couse when you're sick we let you have it.

Now you love eating with your hands. It takes you a little bit to warm up to the food but then you devour it. Dad has a little bit of  a hard letting this happen, he wants to control where the food goes. The first time you ate spaghetti you had it all over your face and in your hair and Daddy wanted to step in and spoon feed you. It's so cute!!!!

You babble so much and have some serious conversations with your toys. I wish I knew what you were saying. You also scream at those toys when they don't work out the way you want them to. You also say the 'k' sound when you hear or see a cow. The other night in the bath you were playing with your cow and you were asked where your cow was and you pointed to it and said 'co'.

Ear Infections

In the last week of January you had an ear infection in your left ear. We figured it was time to take you to the doctor when you weren't sleeping through the night and crying inconsolable. We treated you with Amocociln and you were cleared up. You went in for a check-up on your ear and came out clear. Then within a week you were acting funny again and then sleepless nights began again. It was the weekend so Mommy didn't want to take you to Urgent care because this time you had a horrible cough too. We went in on Monday and you had two bad ear infections. They treated you with Omnicif but as the week progressed that wasn't kicking it. They switched you back to Amocociln and were a lot better in a few days. After you were done with your medicine, after a few days you started to get the sniffles again. So I did some research and thought you might have allergies. We put you on Zyrtec and within about 5 days of being on that you were starting to get a lot better. Still got some crud in your head but so does Mommy and Daddy with their allergies.

First ear infection

Second ear infection, hit you bad!!

I Spy a Tooth

You've been fussy and swollen gums for a couple of weeks now. But tonight Daddy felt something rough. So we did surgery, as I called it, and I held you mouth open moved your tongue out of the way and Daddy held his pocket flash light (which you love to grab for) in your mouth and we looked for this mysterious tooth. Low and behold there was the top of your first tooth. It's barely poking out but we are so excited for you. We were so excited that we called your grandparents!!!

This night was also big for you because you had you first meat baby food. You ate turkey and rice for dinner. It also had carrots and green beans mixed in with it. You were hesitant for a very short second and then devoured it. Also as Daddy and me were making your baby food you got to try cauliflower for the first time. You liked it but were a little hesitant swallowing it because it was a much thicker puree.
