Oops- A Whole Year has Passed!

Mommy has let a whole year pass. It has been a very busy one at that. You not only walk now, you run everywhere. You love being outside. It's usually a fight every time to get you in. You're talking up a storm. You say the funniest things and sometimes even bad words. :( You are so independent. You always ask first before you take off somewhere. Which makes mommy and daddy super proud. You use your manners very well. You can kind of count to ten. It seems like every time you skip one number. You also know how to say your full name, Sophia Riegel. It's so cute! In this last year you have had a real fascination with puppies. Well really any animal you're madly in love with. Your daddy finally caved and got you a puppy, Annie. You two do great together! You're also a great helper around the house. You're always in the kitchen with me when I'm cooking or helping me clean. However, with laundry you like to just sit in the basket instead of help. ;) But sometime you do help me put them away. You also like to help daddy on the farm a lot too. The biggest thing of all in the last year is that you are super excited to be a big sister in December. You're already so sweet to your baby brother or sister. You like to give mommy's belly hugs and kisses. We don't know what we're having but you like to walk around singing 'baby brother'. We are so proud of you and you are such a sweet heart!!

You got really sick for a week and were very close to dehydration. While they were drawing your blood they decided to give you fluids.

Crafts

My sister-in-law is having her first baby and I was trying to think of all the things that are necessary and I had to run out for after Sophie was here. I put together a car survival kit because as all mommy's know there is always something you forget to throw in the diaper bag and then you have to cut errands short.

The kit includes: diapers, wipes, formula, bottle of water, bottle, pacifiers, sippy cup, bibs, and squeezable fruits. It's all placed nicely in a small rubbermaid container that can easily fit in the trunk and not take up much space. I also included in the gift bag gripe water (for gas it works great!), Tylenol, and a screened car seat cover for summer when you want to be outside but baby is to young for bug spray. I hope she loves this as much as I loved putting it together!!

Walking!!!

At 14 months you finally started walking more than just a few steps at a time. We are so proud of you. Each day you're getting better and better. You also have been pooping and peeing in the potty. You haven't completely figured out when to tell us that you need to go but you getting better at sitting on the potty, reading a book and going. It has been a busy, fun filled summer.

I'm late updating about your first birthday. Aunt Lacey, Uncle TJ, Pa, Daddy, and Mommy helped celebrate your first birthday. I was more excited about your first birthday than my birthday. It was a very special day for me!!!! You had a carrot cake for your birthday but only ate the icing. On Saturday the 21st we had your Tigger party. Great-Grandma Morris, Grandma Suthoff, Grandma Even, Randy, Grandpa Riegel, Grandpa Suthoff, Uncle Travis, Aunt Tammy, Paige, Taylor, Aunt Jamie, Uncle TJ, Aunt Lacey, Ma, Pa, and Frank were all ate your party. I made you a Tigger cake that you just tore into. You had a great party!!!

It's Been A Long Time

You have 5 teeth now and one is a molar. It's amazing how they're just started to pop in.
We have been so busy outside this summer. You have a little kiddy pool that you love to play in. You do such a great job of writing with your side walk chalk. Your favorite thing to do when outside is to through the ball back and forth. You were still doing your one legged crawl, even when we were outside so needless to say your left knew has gotten kind skinned up. You also had your first bow fishing trip. You would get very antsy until we pulled in a fish and then you were at awe. We also went to the St. Louis Zoo. You had such a great time. You would point to the animals and just babble away. It was adorable.
You are just none stop talking. Most of it's babbling but more and more of it's beginning to become understandable. You say words or parts of words such as: bye, daddy, cup, juice, ball, puppy, the sound a cow makes, and mommy (but that's not near as often as daddy). If we keep a saying a word over and over to you in one setting you will generally repeat it or parts of it. Your so smart. You can also recognize the letter s with your magnetic letters on the fridge.
The biggest thing is this week you finally started to take steps by yourself. You take about 2-3 steps at a time. I think you'll be walking good by the end of the week.
You eat like a champ. You eat nearly anything we eat. Even the other night when I made some taco stuff a little too spicy you ate it all gone. You have been using utensils for a while now. You're getting a little bit better about getting the food onto the utensil but that's still a work in progress. I think spaghetti and pizza are your favorite foods.
Ever day you amaze more and more. Your daddy and me are so proud of you!!
Your first owie. You were stepping up the outside step
at the sitters and missed the step with
your feet but caught it with your face.
